OUR STORY
Daniel Adams is a father before anything else.
He is the father of two young boys, Emmanuel, 9, and Christian, 8. They are growing up while their father is behind bars, missing the ordinary moments a parent can never get back.
This year, Daniel will miss Emmanuel’s 10th birthday—his third birthday in a row without his dad. And unless Daniel is able to secure the legal representation he needs, he could miss nine more.
In Emmanuel’s words:
“I wish my dad was here. He doesn’t deserve to be going through it. I want my family back.”
— Emmanuel, 9 years old
Daniel is also a son, a friend, an entrepreneur, and a man of God. In September 2023, his life—and the lives of the people who love him—changed forever when he was convicted and lost his freedom.
Daniel has maintained that he did not receive the fair trial the law promises every defendant. His case raises serious questions about whether the jury that decided his fate was truly fair and impartial, whether the instructions provided to that jury were legally supported, and whether testimony, forensic evidence, and the prosecution’s conduct received the scrutiny they deserved.
Daniel and his supporters believe these issues combined to create a profound miscarriage of justice.
But Daniel does not see this as a fight that matters only to him.
“This is bigger than me. This can impact you too. Injustice impacts the lives of many people every day, even if you’re not the one in the cell.”
— Daniel Adams
The justice system is supposed to create balance. It is supposed to give every person, regardless of who they are, a fair opportunity to have the evidence heard and the law applied correctly. When that process fails, the consequences reach far beyond the person who is incarcerated. Children lose parents. Parents lose sons and daughters. Families lose years together. Communities lose people they love and depend on.
Daniel relied on the promise of a fair process. Today, he is asking for the opportunity to challenge whether that promise was kept.
An attorney has agreed to take Daniel’s case and fight to restore his freedom, but there is an urgent deadline. Daniel has approximately two months to raise the money necessary for representation before the legal window to pursue this avenue closes.
This is about more than one man sitting in a prison cell.
It is about Emmanuel and Christian, two little boys who want their father home. It is about a mother who wants her son back. It is about a family that has already lost years together, and a man who wants the chance to rebuild his life, return to his children, and pursue the dreams that were interrupted when he went to prison.
We cannot give Daniel those lost years back. But with your help, we may be able to give him a meaningful chance at the years ahead.
If you are able to contribute, please do. If you cannot donate, sharing Daniel’s story can be just as important. Only so many people will find this page on their own, and every person who shares it helps his family reach someone new.
Please help us fight for Daniel, for Emmanuel and Christian, and for the opportunity to have Daniel’s case fully and fairly heard.
Give these boys the chance to have their father home again.
God bless you, and thank you for listening to Daniel’s story.
